Chloe: A Birthday Post

Chloe turned seven last Saturday, so I thought I would record some facts and feelings about our oldest child as she enters her eighth year.

Chloe...

...loves first grade and loves attending Edgemont Elementary in Provo.

...receives half of her classroom instruction in French and half in English (a dual immersion program) and has taken to learning French extremely well. She loves both of her teachers, Mrs. Hale and Mme Bois.

...seems to have some natural talent for ballet. She is taking a pre-ballet class and her teacher says she is doing very well and "has the perfect body" for ballet. She loves going to ballet class.

...is a wonderful student in both reading and math, and usually enjoys doing homework; but, like most kids, she needs a little prodding sometimes.

...attends Primary and wants her own set of scriptures.

Things Chloe likes:
  • Studio C
  • Bored Shorts TV
  • Scooby Doo
  • Stevie Wonder
  • Cucumbers
  • Yogurt
  • Peacocks
  • Colored pencils
  • Sharpening colored pencils
  • Drawing and painting
  • Games
  • Ponytails
  • Movie night
  • Writing notes to people

Things Chloe is working on:
  • Being obedient
  • Cartwheels
  • Apologizing
  • Playing the piano by ear

We love Chloe so much and we are very proud of her!

Epidural

Today I heard Charlotte say, out of the blue, "Give me an epidural, or he dies!"

After some questioning, I figured out that it came from this Studio C skit:

Chloe's Prayer

"Please bless that we'll have a good time at Disneyland next year. And please bless that I'll be able to understand my French teacher when she speaks French and that I'll have a good time at school when school starts. And please bless that we'll have a good time watching videos tonight and that we won't whine for more because we do that every night."

Our First Week of Summer Vacation

Outside the Marriott ticket office to get tickets to The Selfish Giant.

Tuesday found us at the library doing the Make and Take craft.

Then all of a sudden this happened.

The completed rocket launchers.

 Coloring at the library.

Wednesday we went hiking to the Y (well, almost).

We did some of this.

And a lot of this.

Charlotte having a snack, and a heart-to-heart, with Kitty.

At the duck pond near the Bell Tower.

Finally getting to see the performance of The Selfish Giant.

He needed a lot of people to help him walk around.
